Living By Faith
"Now Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" Heb. 11:1
As we begin to take some concrete steps to begin our journey to South Sudan faith has taken on a whole new depth. There are so many things that seemed to be insurmountable tasks that now seem completely workable.
We have begun working a Rosetta Stone course for Arabic and I can actually see myself beginning to get it. It is going to take time and patience, but it is not as hard as once believed.
I have been meeting with pastors and there is a real interest in small churches here in northeast Missouri for what the Lord is doing a half a world away.
I believe we are going to make our September departure date, if not sooner. We are seeing the Lord give us a peace and encouragement that can only come from Him. Ruth is telling everyone that we are retiring to South Sudan.
Living believing something that seems so out of the norm can be hard sometimes. There are those that discourage you by words or deeds. Sometimes it comes from the most unexpected sources, but people are people.
Prayer has become very important to our effort. It is only by the power of the Lord that this is going to happen. Thanks to all of those praying for us, please continue.
There has been a passage rolling through my mind for a while now. In Esther Mordecai says to Esther "Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this". To be involved in a plan that has been in the works since the foundation of the earth, and now is your time. It is hard to comprehend the love that the Father has for each one of us to allow us to have that kind of impact on the world.
